| More than 40 years of artistic jazz achievements
have made him one of the most well-known drum and percussion soloists in Slovakia,
as well as all over the world. Due to a scholarship at the Berklee School of Music
in Boston, he had the opportunity to perform with a great number of well-known
jazz musicians - Charlie Mariano, Hans Koller, Phil Wilson, Lee Konitz, Larry
Smith, Rick Margitza, Jeff Gardner, Lee Harper, Etta Cameron, Lils Mackintisch,
Barbara Dennerlein, Birelli Lagrene, Karl Ratzer, Wolfgang Puschnig, Harry Sokal,
Attila Zoller, Jay Clayton, Aladar Pege, Pohn Purcell, Monty Waters, Michael del
Ferro, Steve Kirby, Andy McKee, Peter Madsen, Jarek Smietana, Eugen Cicero, Linda
Sharrock, Charlie Antolini, Damon Brown, Hannes Beckmann, Alan Praskin, Christian
Jacob, Anna Lauvargnac, Rudi Berger, Tonino Horta, Wayne Darling, etc. Dodo also
intensively develops concert activities in Europe, the USA and Africa. He is a
founding member of the Czeko-Slovak-American Quartet which released the CD 'Bop
Top' in 1995. He recorded the CD - Larry Smith and Company, Live at the Slovak
Philharmonic and he is a member of the Prague Jazz Quartet as well. He has had
concerts in London, Budapest, Vienna, Tokyo, Montreal, Prague, Berlin, Warsaw,
Jerusalem, Copenhagen, Passau, Bologna, Milan, Gyor, Stuttgart, Schwabisch Hall,
Yerevan, Boston, New York, Alger, etc. The Slovakian Music Fund awarded him with
prizes for Lifetime Achievement, International and Domestic Jazz Promotion, and
Faithfulness to Jazz. He is a holder of the Leo Danihels /USA/ for music. | |
