Composer, arranger and piano player Aleksandar Dujin, born in 1959, was one of the favourite, well-known, promising musicians even before graduating piano from the Conservatory in Vienna. He has recently promoted his new project “Vojvodjanske Impresije”. He plays a variety of styles from jazz-rock to acoustic cool jazz, acid-ethno jazz, vocal and Big Band music as can be seen in his discography which includes „California“, an album of his instrumental jazz-rock original music (1987); „ADO ADO“, acoustic cool-jazz he co-authored with Stefan Pelzl (1992); „Wheelz Around the World“, an acid-ethno-jazz album (1992-1996) co-authored with Stefan Zaradic; „Funk&Soul“, vocal, big-band music (1995) containing two original and seven covered numbers; and „Smooth Jazz Vol. 1“, the CD containing 6 original instrumental and 2 covered vocal compositions (1999). On 22nd October 2006 Aleksandar Dujin celebrated the thirtieth anniversary of his music career. |

Being at the top of the Yugoslav jazz scene for over 30 years, Uros Secerov had a privilege of working with the most famous contemporary jazz artists such as Stjepko Gut, Ratko Divjak, late Joze Privsek, Bubisa Simic, Stevan Radosavljevic and many others. During his career he has had the opportunity to play with all Big Band Orchestras of the ex-Yugoslav territory, playing as a soloist with the RTV Ljubljana, Novi Sad and Belgrade Big Bands. He played in the Vojislav Brkovic Quintet and later with Medaya, the cult band of the 80’s with Wolfgang Reisinger and Beat Fuhrer. With Ratko Divjak, Lado Jaksa and Dani Gancev he played in the group Soncna pot, the first to introduce ethno jazz elements fusion in our parts. After that he played in Lala Kovacev Balkan Impression, YU Jazz rock selection, the Jovan Maljokovic Sextet, YU Jazz summit, Voya Bee – Jimmy Hendrix Pure, the Tony Scot Orchestra, … His YUPIKA Quintet with Ivan Aleksijevic, Bunford Gabor, Istvan Madjaric and Dusan Ivanisevic, received excellent critiques being labeled the greatest support to the Yugoslav jazz scene since the appearance of the Gut-Markovic Sextet as well as representative number one of the Yugoslav jazz school. Besides his concert activity, he has recorded over 30 albums for different performers as a studio musician, played at all relevant jazz festivals in Europe and recorded shows and concerts for home and foreign TV and radio stations. He was Art Director of Novi Sad Jazz Festival 2003 / 2004. |

Saxophone player Adam Klem was born in 1976 in Novi Sad, Serbia. Upon graduating from music high school “Isidor Bajic” in Novi Sad, Clarinet Section, he continued his education at the “University for Music and Fine Arts” in Graz, Austria. In 2005 he earned his MA for Jazz Saxophone. During his studies in Graz, he won a scholarship from the Austrian Ministry for Culture, to study at the prestigious “Sibelius” Academy in Helsinki, Finland. After he returned from Finland, he preformed with the Austrian jazz legend, guitar player Karl Ratzer, and recorded a CD with the band “Minority” from Sarajevo. His professors were, among others: Nikola Srdic, Pete Djuro, Vastag István, Papp József, Tűzkő Csaba, Karlheinz Miklin, Heinrich von Kalnein, Eero Koivistoinen, Jari Perkiomäki, Manuel Dunkel, Jasper Blom, Sasa Nestorovic. Adam has performed with various bands in countries such as: Finland, Sweden, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, Germany, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austria, Egypt and Italy. His professional career started with the Radio Television Novi Sad Dance Orchestra, and he has performed with: Gianni Basso, Lee Harper Little Big Band, Karl Ratzer, Barbara Hendriks, Ladislav Fidri, the Sinan Alimanovic International Band, Karlheinz Miklin, Marko Djordjevic, Marimanga, Minority, Gabriele Centis, Angelo Comisso, the Dance Orchestra of RTV Novi Sad, the KUG Big Band Graz, the Big Band RTV of Slovenia, the Big Band Radovljica, the Big Band Grosuplje, the Big Band Radlje, Musical “Cabaret” MGL, Renato Chicco, Ratko Divljak, Primoz Grasic, Ales Avbelj, Blaz Jurjevcic, Drago Gajo, Tadej Tomsic, Matjaz Mikuletic, Zoran Skrinjar, Jazz Sacral-Nada Zgur, Jure Pukl, Robert Jukic, Primoz Fleischmann, Klemen Kotar, Igor Lunder with Reeds, Nikola Matosic, Izidor Leitinger, Jani Moder, Erik Marence, Marco Quarantotto, Ljubisa Matic, Igor Molnar, Aleksandar Bahun, Milan Simin, Dejan Djukanovic, Aleksandar Dujin, Fedor Ruskuc, Uwe Plath, Predrag Peric-Preda, Andjelko Stupar, Milan Nikolic, Daniel Nösig, Armend Xhaferi’s Marimanga, Enes Seferovic, Wolfgang Rainer, Vladimir Kostadinovic, Erik Rothenstein, Maja Jaku, Sasa Mutic, Dusan Novakov, Amar Cesljar, Dino Sukalo, etc. Adam is currently living in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He teaches saxophone, clarinet and he cooperates with the Big Band of RTV Slovenia, as well as with the Ratko Divljak Group, performs with various orchestras, and is one of the selectors of the Novi Sad Jazz Festival. The first CD with his original music “Hot Coollen” (Sensor Records) was released in fall of 2007. Adam has been performing with his band since 1999. They started off as a classical jazz quartet, then quintet (saxophone- trumpet), and finally Adam found the sound he was looking for in classical jazz quintet formation (saxophone- guitar- piano- double bass- drums). They have performed at various festivals and jazz clubs, such as: Novi Sad Jazz Festival, Münsterland Festival, Applause Club Wiesbaden, Jazz Club Lustenau, Jazzbina Clubbing Pula, Jazz Club Zagreb, Dizzy's Beograd, Colosseum Sarajevo, etc. |

The pianist Josip Lorbek was born in 1933 in Vrsac into a musical family. He finished Music High School „Isidor Bajic“ in 1952, class of professor Stular. Between 1954 and 1958 he studied at the Faculty of Philosophy, where he graduated at the department of German and English Language. In 1959 he enters the Radio Novi Sad Octet as its leader. In 1961 it developed into Dance Orchestra of Radio Novi Sad. From 1969 to 1971 he studied in Graz at Music Academy, Jazz Department composition and conduction. He has participated in summer campuses at Berkley School in Boston.
He has been the conductor of Dance Orchestra of Radio Novi Sad since 1981. Appeared at Jazz festivals – I, II, III Jazz Festival in Bled, Jazz Festival in Skopje, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Novi Sad, Belgrade, and abroad – in Budapest, Berlin, Burghauzen. Taken part in all meetings of dance and jazz orchestras of Yugoslavia, in Radenci. Especially devoted to discovering young talents, jazz singers, in Novi Sad and other cities.
He composes and arranges jazz compositions for big bands. Some of his works have also been performed by orchestras abroad.
Last year, Josip Lorbek celebrated the 55th anniversary of his work as an artist. He is one of those who have been struggling to gain back the characteristics of a town of music, especially jazz, for Novi Sad and fought for the affirmation of young talented musicians.
