“Strong soloists but mostly powerfull compositions that create an image or a sphere right away.” (Jazzenzo Magazine)
“Driving music with light balkan influence...” (De Volkskrant)

The Blazin' Quartet was formed in 2008 by a group of young musicians that share the passion for jazz music without any stylistic border or frame. The only standard in this band is compositional clarity, rhythmical richness and musicality.
They are influenced by the melodies and the rich rythmic culture of the Balkans, by jazz groups as E.S.T. and The Bad Plus a.o., blending in their knowledge of jazz together with influences from their roots and the sounds of today's reality (electronic music). The B.Q. plays music that is complex yet appealing to any listener, powerfull and energetic while keeping a subtle tone.
Already in April 2008 the band has won the Holland Jazz&Pop Casino Award and in July of the same year has won the prestigious Dutch Jazz Competition Best Group prize with it's bass player winning the Best Solioist award on the same competition. They have appeared on festivals such as Jazz-A-Palooza Festival in Utrecht and the North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam.
The band is going to make the Young VIPs Tour in spring 2009 and appear at the North Sea Jazz Festival 2009. Their first record is in preparation, expecting to be released in December 2008.
The members of the band are based in Amsterdam and Den Haag and have studied (or still study) in The Netherlands and are active in the Dutch music scene, and with the Blazin' Quartet they are finding the way to express their voice.
