JD WALTER
JD Walter is a Jazz singers singer-a purist and an innovator. Although his style has been compared to many vocal Titans, it is in the same breath, uniquely his own, and he has become a singular phenomenon on the music scene. Respected and lauded by the great musicians of the contemporary circuit, J.D. has shared the stage and recorded with many legendary artists. J.D. has currently recorded 5 CD's. "Sirens in the C-House", "Clear Day", a collaboration with master musician Dave Liebman, "Dedicated to You", "2Bass, a Face and a little skin", and "live in Portugal". JD has been a guest artist on many CD's, is also a member of pianist Orrin Evans Luvpk band, with 2 releases on Imani Records, as well as performing 3 songs on trumpeter Sean Jones latest release, "Kaleidoscope", on Mack Avenue records. J.D. has been a featured artist at countless American jazz festivals and clubs, performed at numerous festivals in Europe, the Middle East, Central America and toured Russia 25+ times, performing in over 100 cities. J.D. is in demand as a clinician at schools and universities. He has performed numerous clinics for the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the Music Educators National Conference, and has taught at the prestigious Sebelius Conservatory in Helsinki Finland, Jazz Palau De Valencia in Spain, The University of North Texas (invited back as the first vocalist ever on their lecture series), The Moscow Music Consort, and the Kazan Music Conservatory in Russia. JD is a regular on the Music Scene in New York having headlined at such venues as, Lincoln Center, The Jazz Standard, The Jazz Gallery, Joe's Pub, The Tribeca Performing Arts Center, Sweet Rhythm, Smoke, and can be seen frequently at the famed 55 Bar. He was also formerly on the faculty of the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Currently resides in New York City, teaches at The Aaron Copeland School of Music, The New School, and can be heard at many major jazz clubs and events.
NIKOLA STANOŠEVIĆ
Nikola Stanošević was born on 11th December 1980 in Belgrade. He grew up in a musical family and music followed him from the earliest childhood, so it was a small wonder that he started showing his musical interest and talent at an early age. At the age of 7 he started his formal musical education at a Lower Music School (piano). In 1995 he entered High Music School in Kragujevac (instrumentalist-piano), matriculating in 1999 with excellent grades and very good results in different competitions. At that time, besides classical music, he started showing great interest in jazz. In the period between 2000 and 2004, during his studies at the Bruckner Conservatoire in Linz, making a great progress, Nikola started performing with different bands (jazz, pop, rock, classical music), and in various situations (concerts, theatres, musicals). He has performed throughout Austria and Germany, Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Ukraine, etc. Nikola is currently at his Master’s studies at the Conservatoire in Vienna (Jazz Department) and is active as a sideman in different formations. He performs at jazz clubs of Vienna and other places in Austria as well as throughout Europe (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Portugal), including appearances at festivals, theatres and clubs.
FEDOR RUŠKUC
Born in Novi Sad in 1980, Fedor Ruškuc, stepped into the world of music when he was six years old. After completing primary music school playing the violin, he changed the instrument, finishing his secondary education with the double bass. After Music School “Isidor Bajić”, he left for studies first in Graz (1999) and then Cologne (2002), where he graduated in Jazz Double Bass in 2005. He has received a number of awards with different ensembles as well as solo awards, among which his favourite is the “Jimmy Woody Award 2008” for best double bass player. He performs all over Europe and Russia and can be heard on over fifteen releases with different ensembles. In 2010 he participated in the WDR Television production of the film “Global Local” with East Affair. His collaborations include: Keith Copeland, Dennis Rowland, Vert, Adam Klemm, Uwe Plath and many others. He is a permanent member of the Ferenc and Magnus Mehl Quintet (FUMMQ) as well as the Magnusa Mehl Quintet, East Affair and the East West European Jazz Orchestra TWINS 2010. In the spring 2010 he returned to Novi Sad, where he still lives and works. Fedor Ruškuc is a member of the Novi Sad Jazz Festival Council and conducts the Novi Sad Jazz Youth Big Band.
DUŠAN NOVAKOV
Born in 1970 in Pančevo, former Yugoslavia.
1986-1988 attended International Jazz seminar in Grožnjan (Director, Reggie Workman).
1989-1998 He studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz Austria, graduating from the Jazz Department.
1996-1997 Studied at the Art University Rotterdam (NL).
