ALEKSANDAR JAĆIMOVIĆ - conductor |
Born in Belgrade on 17.07.1964, Aleksandar Jaćimović completed primary and secondary music schools "Stanković" and "Josip Slavenski" (departments of piano and double bass in primary, and departments of violin - "Stanković" and fagot in the secondary music school "Josip Slavenski"), as well as a master class in conducting with maestro Borislav Pašćan. He was accepted in the first year of Jazz Saxophone studies at the Jazz Academy in Graz in class of Prof. Karl Heinz Miklin. He worked as a saxophone soloist in the RTB Jazz Orchestra. He was recognised as the Affirmed Artist of SFRY in 1987. Then he started working at the RTS Big Band as a saxophone-soloist of the Orchestra. He worked for four years as a professor in the Jazz Department of Music School "Stanković" in Belgrade, teaching small ensembles, and is the artistic director and conductor of the Jazz Youth of Vojvodina Big Band. Since 1986 he has appeared at a number of jazz festivals in our country and abroad. He has worked with: Geoorge Cables, Randy Brecker, Jimmy Cobb, Percy Heath, Chuck Fiendly, Larry Coriel, Duško Gojković, Roy Hargroove, Jens Winter, The Temptations, Alfredo Rodrigues, Stjepko Gut, Olivier Gato, Roberto Pla, Bradford C.
