WORKSHOP – RADIONICA
“SOUNDBEAM”
Led by: Žarko Sebić and Renata Koler
The music workshop ‟Zvučni snop” operates within the assistive technology team of the School for Primary and Secondary Education ‟Milan Petrović” from Novi Sad. The mission of the workshop is to involve people with disabilities into the cultural life of the community through active participation in creating and performing music. Its activities are based on the use of special musical devices, which employ sensory technology to make music available to all.
The workshop is led by Žarko Sebić and Renata Koler, who have been working with their students on their music education and social inclusion through art since early 2013.
The workshop includes the orchestra ‟Dobri ljudi” (The Good People), which is its integral part. The orchestra consists of people with disabilities who have had a number of noted appearances at the Novi Sad Jazz Festival, Hearts in Harmony Festival, Street Artists Festival and other events, where they have performed with professional musicians and DJs. The orchestra has made the soundtrack for a short documentary film ‟Kad bih mogla da biram…” (If I Could Only Choose…), which has been shown at a number of film festivals in our country (The March Festival in Belgrade, Bosifest, Uhvati film, etc.) and abroad (USA, Canada, Holland, Hungary, Romania, Iran, etc.), winning awards from some of them.
