NIKOLA-MIMO MITROVIC
was born in 1941 in Budva. He started playing the trumpet in Budva
Town music and later continued playing music during his studies
of Chemistry Engineering in Belgrade (he graduated from the Faculty
of Technology). He acquired his musical education through persistent
independent study, the most important being the experience and
advice he received while working with orchestras throughout Europe
in the period between 1965 and 1978.
From 1978 to 1988 he was a permanent member of the RTV Belgrade
Jazz Orchestra, the Markovic - Gut Sextet, and an associate member
of the "Trumpets and Rhythm Unit" - the orchestra of
Dusko Gojkovic and Lale Kovacev, where he played the trumpet and
flugelhorn. Since 1988 he has continued his successful music career
in Sweden where he lives. He is a permanent member of the Lansmusiken
- Jamtalnds Lan Orchestra and the "High Coast" Big Band
which embraces jazz musicians from a few towns in central Sweden.
With these orchestras he has performed at a number of jazz festivals
worldwide. In 1983 he represented Yugoslavia in the "All
Stars Big Band" European Music Union Orchestra for that year
at the Jazz Concert held in Stockholm. He has worked with almost
all Yugoslav jazz musicians as well as with many international
stars such as: Terry Clark, Ernie Wilkins, Alvin Queen, Tony Scott,
Kenny Drew, etc. He has made about twenty LPs and CDs. He has
also been involved in educational work in Yugoslavia and Sweden
alike.
Since the beginning of the Budva Town Theatre, he has worked to
obtain the same treatment for jazz as all other fields of cultural
activity already have, where the International Jazz Festival and
the International Summer School would represent its summit. For
this reason he and his friends have organized various jazz concerts
within the framework of the Budva Town Theatre.
IVAN ALEKSIJEVIC was born in Pancevo in 1971. He finished
the 'Stankovic' Music High School. He has been working with the
RTS Big Band since 1995. He has also worked with many well known
domestic and foreign jazz, pop and rock musicians. He is often
engaged as a studio musician.
PREDRAG REVISIN was born in 1966 in Belgrade.
He is a professional jazz musician and educator.
He completed the elementary Piano Program at the 'Kosta Manojlovic'
Music School in Belgrade and the elementary and high school Double-bass
Program at the same school. He studied Double-bass (jazz) at the
University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria, in the
class of Professor Wayne Darling. He graduated "cum laude"
in 1997 and completed his Master Degree Program by 1998.
He works as a freelance artist and arranger. From 1985 to 1987
he was a member of the Radio TV Big Band in Belgrade as a bass
player. Since 1993 he has worked as a part-time lecturer and Jazz
Workshop and Short Course Presenter at various academic institutions
(the Jazz Educational Center in Belgrade, Yugoslavia; the University
of Music and Performing Arts in Linz and Graz, Austria; the UCT
College of Music in South Africa).
From 1998 to 1999 he worked as a music consultant, arranger and
tutor at the 'Jazztrack Studios' CC, in Cape Town. While studying,
he was engaged by musicians such as: Terry Clark, Andy Bey, Mark
Murphy, Sheila Jordan, Dusko Gojkovic, Bob Mover, Berry Harris,
Stjepko Steve Gut, Fritz Pauer, Karl Heintz-Miklin, Alan Praskin,
Johannes Enders, etc
In the same period he played in the 'Royal Garden Dixiland Band'
(Graz) as a permanent member, and in the 'Grazer Philharmonic'
as an associate member. In 1998 Predrag Revisin moved to South
Africa where he worked with local and international names such
as: Andrew Lilly, Kevin Gibson, Zim Nqwana, Jack van Poll, Rene
McLean, Beki Mseleku, Vusi Khumalo, Stacy Rowles etc. In 2001
he moved back to Belgrade where he is currently working as Teacher
and Program Coordinator at the Jazz EPIcenter in Belgrade.
