Novosadski duvacki orkestar

NOVOSADSKI DUVACKI ORKESTAR (THE NOVI SAD BRASS BAND) was founded by the end of 2002 and was meant to be a classical brass band. At the beginning of 2003, through its repertoire and personnel changes, it transformed into a modern European brass band with a full rhythm section.
Although in its program it cherishes jazz, film, and pop-rock music, it does not deviate from the classical pieces in modern arrangement.
It has had numerous performances, the most important being: the New Year Gala Concert, the spring concert in Studio 'M' Radio Novi Sad, the concert on the World Day of Music 2003, the inauguration of the Palic Film Festival, th e Belgrade Music Summer and the annual concert at the Novi Sad Synagogue on 19th October 2003, to name a few.
Thanks to the variety of its repertoire, the Band has obtained great popularity with the audience of Novi Sad. The arrangements are made by Fedor Vrtacnik, who is also its conductor. To single out a few soloists, there are: Aleksandar Dujin, piano; Dragan Kozarcic, flugelhorn, trumpet; Gabor Bunfort, clarinet-sax; Vladimir Nezic, trombone; Stevan Dragas, trombone; Robert Pongo, drums; Istvan Madjaric, bass guitar.
Their work is sponsored by the Executive Board of the Novi Sad City Assembly - Secretariat for Education and Culture.
