Uros Secerov

At the top of the Yugoslav jazz scene for more than 25 years already. At the very beginning of his career Uros Secerov had the privilege of working with most of the famous jazz artists of our time, like Stjepko Gut, Ratko Divjak, late Joze Privsek, Bubisa Simic, Stevan Radosavljevic and many others.
During his career he has played with all Big Band Orchestras on the territory of ex-Yugoslavia, and had special arrangements with RTV Ljubljana, Novi Sad and Belgrade Big Bands where he played as a guest soloist. He played with Vojislav Brkovic in his quintet and later in MEDAYA, the cult band of the 80s with Wolfgang Reisner and Beat Fuhrer. With Ratko Divjak, Lado Jaksa and Dani Gancev he played in SONCNA POT group which, for the first time, introduced the combination of ethno sound with jazz elements. After that he played in Lala Kovacs’ orchestra, BALKAN IMPRESSION, as well as YU JAZZ ROCK SELECTION, JOVAN MALJOKOVIC SEXTET, YU JAZZ SUMMIT, VOYA BEE – JIMI HENDRIX PURE, TONY SCOT ORCHESTRA…
Recently, his main preoccupation has been YUPIKA QUINTET with Ivan Aleksijevic, Bunford Gabor, Istvan Madjaric and Dusan Ivanisevic, which is concerned by critics to be a big support to Yugoslav jazz scene after GUT-MARKOVIC SEXTET, as well as the first representative of Yugoslav jazz school.
Besides his concert activity, he has recorded over 30 albums for different performers as a studio musician, played at all relevant jazz festivals in Europe and recorded shows and concerts for Yugoslav and foreign TV and radio stations.
