Cultural Centre of Novi Sad activities
are spreading, searching for new modes of presentation of culture
and primarily thinking of quality. The Centre is well known of its
openness and acceptance of new cultural tendencies, as well as of
the variousity of its program activities – literature and social
platforms, scene, art and film programme, publishing activity,
multimedia and interdisciplinary projects.
Centre is most certainly one of the most appealing
institutions with creative potential, persuasive in its intention to
animate actors of all generations, especially young ones, and to
affiliate their creative energy in realisation of new cultural
projects, actions, manifestations and
festivals.
Eight years ago Cultural Centre of Novi Sad had initiated International Festival of Alternative
and New Theatre – INFANT, and has been organising it
successfully since. Two years ago Festival of European Film –
EUROns - had been established. The first Festival of Digital Art
also found its place among events in Cultural Centre of Novi
Sad.
Since 1999 Cultural Centre of Novi Sad organises NOVI SAD
JAZZ FESTIVAL, that has, thanks to collaboration with Becej BREWRY,
grown into NOVI SAD Old Gold JAZZ
FESTIVAL in 2000, and that’s what Old Gold is
today.
NOVI
SAD OLD GOLD JAZZ FESTIVAL belongs to Novi Sad, but is, in the same
time, an international event.
Thanks to outstanding understanding of our ambitions,
firstly by Town Council Executive Board, as well as by County
Ministry of Education and Culture and some other organisations and
institutions, Novi Sad Old Gold Jazz Festival 2002 will be one more
festival that exceeds town limits. As we deeply believe, this
festival will make our town even more important when speaking about
centres of culture in and out of the borders of our
country.
Thanks to the continuous and long co-operation of the
Cultural Centre of Novi Sad with foreign cultural centres and
embassies, the following institutions contributed to Novi Sad Old
Gold Jazz festival 2002: Goethe Institute, Belgrade and
South-eastern Europe Stability Pact, French Cultural Centre,
Belgrade, Austrian Cultural Forum and Austrian Embassy, as well as
Embassy of USA. |
